Action: Pledge to Vote in the 2022 Municipal Elections

February 28, 2022

Municipal elections will take place across BC to elect new mayors and councils on October 15, 2022. We must elect mayors and councillors that support active transportation, safe bike infrastructure, and education to help the region reach its climate goals.

Municipal elections are one of the most direct ways we can influence the decision-making process. Let's elect candidates that will support active transportation. Elected officials hold voting power to decide on the approval of budgets, plans, and infrastructure projects. Without the support of city councils, it is much harder to improve cycling conditions.

Get involved by following these steps:

Step 1:

Sign our pledge to vote

Step 2:

Share this pledge with your friends and family

Step 3:

Stay engaged and updated on our campaign, and participate in our calls for action. Consider joining a Local Committee to discuss the upcoming elections and raise issues important to you. These committees happen in all communities in the region and are 100% volunteers like you.

Step 4:

Add the election to your calendar so you don't forget to vote! It's on Saturday, October 15th, 2022.

More people cycling more often will help build a more sustainable, healthy, vibrant, and equitable future. Together, we can make a difference by electing local government officials who will push for building bike infrastructure suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Take the pledge to vote!
