What is Go by Bike Week?
Go by Bike Week is a celebration of cycling, where we encourage everyone in Metro Vancouver to give cycling a try and motivate those who already do to keep riding.
Ride your bike to the pharmacy, school, work or to grab a coffee, any destination counts and log your trips to track KM's and greenhouses gas savings, the more trips you log, the more prizes you can win! This year's grand prize, sponsored by Exodus Travels, is a holiday to Italy!
How to Participate

If you've participated before, you must RESET YOUR PASSWORD and log a trip to register for Spring Go By Bike Week.
First time, taking part?
- Sign up for an account and set up your profile.
- You will be a solo rider until you join or create a team
- Register for the event by logging a trip via the Log My Ride button
Celebration Stations
Visit one of 20+ Celebration Stations across Metro Vancouver where you can stop by for:
- Free bike maintenance
- Free maps and other resources
- Snacks and hot drinks
- Cycling tips and local route information
The schedule will be updated on a weekly basis as locations are confirmed.

Intro to E-biking
Participants will learn about the pros and cons of e-bikes, as well as types, classes, cost, and performance to help you choose the right one for yourself. It will also cover tips for caring for and maintaining your e-bike, along with relevant by-laws and regulations to help give you more confidence in navigating your ride.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help at our Celebration Stations. Sign up here.
Mechanics for Go by Bike Week
We are looking for fantastic bike mechanics to perform basic bike maintenance (15 min max for each bike) for our Celebration Stations. All mechanics will receive a $75 stipend for each 2-hour shift. Register here to join us as a Bike Mechanic!
High Schools Students
- To sign up, a school champion member from each high school will act as a team leader, setting up the high school as a ‘team’ by registering the school.
- After creating a team, your team leader is able to invite fellow students and teachers to join your team. -

GENERAL
1. What is Go by Bike Week?
Go by Bike Week is a celebration of cycling, encouraging everyone in Metro Vancouver to give cycling a try and motivate those who already do. The event happens twice a year, once in the Spring (May/June) and once in the Fall (September/October).
2. Why should I participate?
There are so many reasons to participate and go by bike!
- It's fun
- It's great for your health and keeps you active
- It helps save you money
- It helps reduce air pollution and congestion
- It's great for workplace comradery
- There are tons of great prizes to win
- The data we collect from the event helps to make cycling better in Metro Vancouver
3. Riding solo or in a team?
You can participate individually or in a team with friends, family, neighbours, or work buddies.
4. What kind of trips can I log?
All cycling trips and all bikes (yes, that includes e-bikes and pedal assist) count! Including:
- Commuting to work
- Taking your bike onto transit
- Going on a ride with friends
- Riding your bike to school
- Biking to shop or the gym
- Bike courier trips
- Visiting a Celebration Station
- And more!

TEAM LEADERS
1. How do I become a Team Leader and register a new team?
Once you register and enter your information, choose to register as a Team Leader and create a new team.
2. My team has participated in Go by Bike Week before, do I need to register my team again for this years event?
If you are already registered on the site, you must log a trip after our official launch date to register your team for the next edition of Go by Bike Week.
HIGHSCHOOL STUDENTS
1. Do high schools register through Go by Bike Week? How?
Yes, high schools are encouraged to register through Go by Bike Week and track their trips using our online tracking tool instead of through Bike to School Week. To sign up, a member from the high school will act as your team leader, setting up the high school as a ‘team’ by registering the school at bikehub.ca/registration.
