"... bikes aren't welcome... on Broadway. ... if you want to participate in this great street...you're going to have to ride on the road. That's scary... The time to do this is now. We've got the streets ripped up.... induced demand. If we build the active transportation lane, people will come.If we build more car lanes, more cars will come. This is the time where we make these kind of visionary decisions to really define what a great street's going to look like. It's not going to be any cheaper."
We can have the patio. We can have the sidewalks. And we can have the separated active transportation lanes

"It's not going to be more practical to revisit this later. In fact, there will be more encumbrance because nobody's going to want to rip up Broadway again.... we really can have it all. We can have the trees... the patio...the sidewalks. And...the separated active transportation lanes."
I think it's ludicrous to assume that we can have a safe, welcoming, great street with people on scooters zipping down the sidewalk
