Port Moody Candidate Survey Results | 2022 Municipal Elections
In this year's Port Moody municipal election, there are 2 candidates for mayor and 14 candidates for council. Port Moody electors will go to the polls to elect one mayor and 6 councillors.
We reached out to candidates with publicly available contact information. The survey opened on September 13th, with responses accepted until September 26th, and no responses were accepted afterwards.
The survey consisted of six multiple choice questions to find out what candidates support. We also asked candidates five long answer questions, followed by an opportunity to leave additional comments.
The long answer questions were:
-
What have you done, or will you do to advocate in support of active transportation infrastructure in your city and why?
-
Do you support eliminating the westbound HOV lane on Clarke to accomodate a bidirectional protected bike lane?
-
Do you support changing Murray Street to one lane each way between the overpass and Ioco Road to provide protected bike lanes and separate pedestrians and cyclists, who currently have to share the MUP?
-
Where do you see room for improvement in connecting us with neighboring municipalities for active transportation?
-
HUB Cycling has released a Cycling Platform. Which focus areas and points do you endorse, and which ones do you disagree with?
The table below show answers to the multiple choice questions.
