12th Annual HUB Bike Awards
HUB Cycling hosted its 12th Annual Bike Awards on March 8th, celebrating the organizations and individuals making biking better across Metro Vancouver.
Cycling advocates, politicians, and regional and provincial decision-makers gathered at MEC Vancouver to celebrate those who made cycling safer and more accessible in 2024.
The night was hosted by Uytae Lee, founder of About Here, and officially opened by Respected Tsawwassen Nation Elder xʷəsteniya (Ruth Mary Adams) who performed a welcome song and spoke about The Great Blue Heron Way, a planned network of trails that connect first nation communities through the Salish Sea and Stó:lõ (Fraser River).
Attendees from all levels of government were present including MP Bonita Zarrillo, MLA Susie Chant, Mayor of New West, Patrick Johnstone, Acting Burnaby Mayor Alison Gu, and Councillors from Coquitlam, Port Moody and the District of North Vancouver.
