Port Coquitlam Candidate Survey Results | 2022 Municipal Elections
In this year's Port Coquitlam municipal election, there is 1 candidate for mayor and 18 candidates for council. With no challengers, the incumbent mayor, Brad West, has been re-elected by acclamation. Port Coquitlam electors will go to the polls to elect 6 councillors.
We reached out to candidates with publicly available contact information. The survey opened on September 13th, with responses accepted until September 26th, and no responses were accepted afterwards.
The survey consisted of five multiple choice questions to find out what candidates support. We also asked candidates four long answer questions, followed by an opportunity to leave additional comments.
The long answer questions were:
- How can Port Coquitlam help fast-forward an active transportation connection to the Port Mann Bridge keeping in mind that it also allows for other significant connections as well?
- What have you done, or will you do to advocate in support of active transportation infrastructure in your city and why?
- Where do you see room for improvement in connecting us with neighbouring municipalities for active transportation?
- HUB Cycling has released a Cycling Platform. Which focus areas and points do you endorse, and which ones do you disagree with?
