The HUB Bike Bus is a fun, safe, and active way for students to get to school. We ride rain or shine, so please dress for the weather!

What to Bring for a Smooth Ride:

Proper Helmet Fit:

2V2 Helmet Fit Infographic. There should be 2-fingers distance from helmet to brow. Use your 2-fingers to create a V-Shape straps around both ears. There should be 2-fingers distance from chin to strap.

Important Reminders for Participants & Caregivers:

  • Please arrive at your designated pick-up points a few minutes early. Pickup and drop-off times are estimated, and the Bike Bus cannot wait for latecomers
  • All student participants must be registered and have a signed Acknowledgement of Risk form
  • Join the ride! We highly recommend parents accompany their child for their initial ride to help them get comfortable with the route. Parents/caregivers are always welcome to join any Bike Bus ride! It's a great way to be active and connect with other families.
  • Stay connected! Many Bike Bus programs use messaging groups (like WhatsApp or Signal) to share important updates and information. Check with parents volunteers in your school.
  • Rider Rules: We encourage families to review the Bike Bus Rider Rules Video with your children and Code of Conduct.

Before EACH Bike Bus remind the following:

  • Stay on the right side of the road
  • Stay between the Bike Bus leader and the Back Rider
  • Give each other space but stay as a group
  • Cross intersections as a group
  • Listen to the Bike Bus leaders and volunteers
  • Have fun!

A slide that shows the three positions on the road during a bike bus ride. The Lead is at the front of the group and they make sure no one is in front of you. The Corker/Marshall is in the middle of the group. They help with intersection crossing when needed. The sweep is at the back of the group. They make sure no one is behind you.

Volunteer & Support:

The Bike Bus program really thrives with your support! Please consider volunteering if you can. As a caregiver, you can help ensure a safe and smooth ride by:

  • Reminding children about rider guidelines
  • Assisting at main intersections
  • Helping as needed with leading the ride or sweep

Your help makes a big difference, creating a better and safer Bike Bus experience for all the kids!
