About the Park

Surrey Bend is part of a complex of parks and protected areas along the Fraser River. It features a great diversity of wetland types including a large bog, and ecologically significant floodplain forests, marshes and thickets which depend on tidal flows and seasonal flooding.

Located near the centre of the park, Surrey Bend Bog is the third largest and relatively undisturbed bog (79 ha) in the Fraser Valley.

Most of the regional park is undyked and undisturbed, allowing the natural ebb and flow of water to help maintain these habitats.
