    Meeting Date:

ABC Motion to Remove the Temporary Bike Lane from Stanley Park

We are excited with removing the bike lane, but we're also excited about looking at permanent solutions to bringing a bike lane back that's more permanent and not temporary, which will include accessibility for all people that want to enjoy the park.

  • Commissioner Haer moves to remove the Stanley Park bike lane as soon as possible

    Meeting Date:

Motion to remove much of the temporary bike lane on Park Drive as soon as possible

I would like to move a motion for option C with the following wording that the Vancouver Park Board direct staff to proceed with option C to return to pre-COVID-19 pandemic traffic flows in Stanley Park and to improve the 2021 temporary bike lane, specifically to remove much of the temporary bike lane on Park Drive as soon as possible with work to be completed before the end of May 2023 with some sections remaining for safety and detailed in the report. And with the following additional direction to staff.

One, restore vehicle parking at Lumberman's Arch that was available pre-COVID-19. And two, report back to the Park Board no later than November 2023 with a dedicated bike lane proposed for 2024 that incorporates the 2023 summer usage data, stakeholder input and park user experience. B, that the staff redirect funding from appropriate funding sources within the existing capital expenditures budget to enable this work.

And C, that the Vancouver Park Board confirm that this motion retained the full intent of all previous motions passed by the Park Board with the exception of the timing of the removal of the temporary bike lane on Park Drive, which are now superseded by this motion.

    Meeting Date:

Response to staff presentation on Stanley Park temporary bike lane options. Report back

Thank you. And then the other question I've got is, for option C, it says that you're going to be consulting with the management and staff for Tea House to see what direction they want to go. Have you already started those talks?

And what are the timelines like for that, if we went with that, if you even consider that? Yeah, so we had an option for all of them. Excuse me.
