After a successful launch in the Spring season, the Newcomer Bike Mentorship Program is recruiting volunteers for our second round in 2022, starting in July. The program is delivered in partnership with the Immigrant Services Society of BC, with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and BCAA.

The program matches recent immigrants and refugees with local volunteer “mentors” for companionship and cultural orientation to Vancouver’s active transportation lifestyle.

We are looking for people experienced in urban cycling to volunteer as mentors for 3-month matches. We especially need volunteers for our Tri-Cities program, and would also welcome applicants who live in adjoining municipalities like Burnaby, New West, and Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge. Please click here to fill out the online application form, and here to learn more about the history of the program.

To find out more about a day in the life of our program matches, read our most recent Spotlight Series: Ulyana and Lucy cycle through Metro Vancouver and into Go by Bike Week.
