Open House: Lougheed Highway Multi-use Cycle Track (Maple Ridge)

February 7, 2013

An Open House is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Maple Ridge Municipal Hall, 11995 Haney Place (lobby area at the Dewdney Trunk road entrance). Design boards will be displayed and staff will be available to answer questions.

The District of Maple Ridge is planning to construct a multi-use cycle track on the north side of Lougheed Highway between Laity Street and 216 Street. The project objectives are to provide a safe cycling pathway on approximately 700 meters of Lougheed Highway. This pathway will extend the east/west connectivity for cyclists through the existing neighborhood cycle routes on 117 Avenue. The proposed improvements have been approved in the District's 2013 Capital Budget and grant funding has been confirmed through the Bike BC - Gateway Program and TransLink. Construction is anticipated for summer 2013.
