A New Chapter: HUB Cycling Announces Board President Transition
At HUB Cycling, we know that progress is a team effort. Just as a well-maintained bike relies on every gear working in harmony, our organization thrives on the dedication of our volunteer leadership and members. Today, we are proud to announce a transition in our Board of Directors that celebrates both a storied legacy and a bright future.
Thanking Jeff Leigh
After many years of exceptional service, Jeff Leigh is stepping down as President of the Board. Jeff’s tenure has been characterized by a calm, rational approach to advocacy and board leadership. With his background in engineering, Jeff helped bridge the gap between community needs and technical infrastructure, contributing significantly to initiatives like HUBMAP, and the development of our 5 year strategic plan. He has also been a tireless champion for the #UnGapTheMap initiative and instrumental in our pioneering State of Cycling report. We are incredibly grateful that Jeff will continue to serve as a Director until the next AGM, lending his expertise to our ongoing advocacy efforts.
Welcoming Victoria Gray
The Board has appointed Victoria Gray to succeed Jeff as President. Victoria is a seasoned marketing consultant and board director with a 30-year track record of driving growth for organizations across North America.
Since joining the Board in 2022, Victoria has been a champion for sustainable living and equitable transportation. Bringing a wealth of experience in strategic communications and brand marketing, she has already proven herself to be a thoughtful and energetic leader on our Board. Victoria brings a fresh perspective and a deep commitment to our mission of getting more people on bikes.
"I am honoured to lead the HUB Cycling Board at such a pivotal time," says Victoria. "Cycling is a solution to so many of the challenges we face today—from affordability to health. I look forward to working with our staff and volunteers to expand cycling ridership and safe infrastructure across BC."
Looking Ahead
This transition comes at a time of steady growth for the organization. Following our successful 13th Annual Bike Awards earlier in March, it is clear that the momentum for safer streets is building across the province. With the demand for equitable and affordable transportation at an all-time high, we are tackling the systemic barriers to cycling for people of all ages and abilities. Please join us in celebrating Jeff’s immense contributions to these wins and supporting Victoria as she takes the handlebars to lead us into this ambitious next chapter.
