HUB Receives Living City Award from City of North Vancouver

On Monday evening, the City of North Vancouver’s Parks and Environment Advisory Committee awarded the Living City Award to HUB and our very active and dedicated North Shore Committee.

The award recognizes the work of the committee and HUB staff to increase cycling and cycling safety on the north shore. Over the years, our work has included delivery of cycling skills development and safety instruction to all Grade 4 and 5 students in local schools, including 280 Grade 8 and 9 students at Carson Graham Secondary School, organizing Celebration Stations during Bike to Work Week, contributing to City of North Vancouver project reviews and relevant public open houses.

Receiving the Living City Award for the Community Group Category on behalf of HUB were North Shore committee members Antje Wahl (chair) and Heather Drugge.

The Living City Award recognizes the efforts of individuals, schools, community groups and businesses within the City of North Vancouver who demonstrate leadership in environmental sustainability. The awards are an important part of the City's environmental stewardship program and provide a means of supporting and fostering environmental leadership in the City of North Vancouver.

Thank you City of North Vancouver for this honour, and congratulations Antje, Heather and the North Shore Committee team!
