Carbon Talks - The Benefits of Moving in a Livable Region

March 5, 2014

Members of the public are invited to join SFU at two public Carbon Talk dialogues specifically focused on transportation, the economy, and what is needed to ensure high livability in the region.

Part of the SFU Centre for Dialogue, the talks are called Beyond the Politics: The Benefits of Moving in a Livable Region, and will take place in Vancouver (March 14) and Surrey (April 8).

These talks will include special guest panelists seeking to engage and educate Metro Vancouver citizens and stakeholders on transportation issues.

Moving in a Livable Region is also the name of a new initiative launched by SFU, comprised of businesses, organizations, local governments, and transportation leaders, in a concerted, collaborative effort to create a long-term sustainable funding regime for transportation in the Metro Vancouver region.

Moving in a Livable Region is committed to preparing Metro Vancouver citizens and stakeholders for the transit referendum by providing information on transportation issues and funding options for the region in the context of the upcoming vote.
