$10 Cycling Education courses in Vancouver all summer long!

August 3, 2012

Thanks to the City of Vancouver, HUB is offering Cycling Education courses in Vancouver for only $10 throughout the summer!  The Streetwise and Family Streetwise courses are a fun, practical and hands-on way to learn how to be more comfortable riding in traffic. Through classroom and on-road training you'll learn about the safest place on the road to ride, how to maneuver your bike effectively, communicate with other road users, handle riding at night and in the rain, and more. You’ll gain the skills & confidence you need to enjoy riding in the city!

Or take the Bike Maintenance course! This fun, interactive workshop takes the mystery out of the bicycle. Participants bring their bikes and we show them how to do a basic inspection to make sure it’s in good running order. They learn how to clean and oil their bike, check their brakes and gears, and a few other tricks to make their riding experience more enjoyable. We cover fixing the dreaded flat tire (not really such a big deal after all), and help participants decide when it's a good idea to take their bike to the shop.

Visit our Cycling Education page to register. (We believe in full participation - subsidies are available. Please contact us for details.)
