At HUB Cycling we have been working on improving regional shared micromobility like bike share, e-cargo bike share, and e-scooter share across Metro Vancouver for years.

At the beginning of February, we hosted the premiere of the film The Bike Share Dilemma by acclaimed filmmaker Uytae Lee of About Here Videos at MONOVA, exploring how a truly integrated regional bike share system in Metro Vancouver could make travel more affordable, accessible, and better connected to transit across the region. You can watch the film here.

At the premiere, we hosted a panel with Mayor Linda Buchanan, TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn, Mobi by Rogers CEO Mia Kohout, and Head of Evolve E-Bike and E-Scooter Share, BCAA Leanne Buhler exploring the possibility of a regional bike share system.

Following this event, the City of Vancouver passed a motion on March 11th called: Cheap, Easy and Everywhere: Unlocking the full potential of shared mobility to reduce traffic congestion across Metro Vancouver. This motion aims to draft Bike Share growth strategy and advocate for regional coordination and funding. You can read the motion here.

Our work is helping make this happen! Our team of advocates are working on regional bike share year-round, collaborating with governments of all levels and Translink to help connect our cities with shared mobility. If you want to support this work, please consider donating today.
