Become a Go by Bike Week Event Activator

Contract: May 29 to June 1, 2025

Love talking to people and want to help run an in-person event? HUB Cycling is hiring two independent contractors to run the opening weekend activations during Go by Bike Week Spring.

 

About HUB Cycling and Go by Bike Week (May 31- June 6, 2025):

HUB Cycling is Metro Vancouver’s cycling organization that encourages people of all ages and abilities to cycle more often. Go by Bike Week is a week-long event that encourages people to cycle more often. Activators set up and run the Celebration Stations, high-energy pop-up stations across Metro Vancouver where the public can receive cycling resources, free snacks, and bike maintenance.

 

Contract  Overview 

Dates: May 29 to June 1, 2025

Compensation: $730 (27 hours- includes 10 hours paid travel and rest time) 

 

May 29-30: 4 hours of online and in-person training 

May 31-June 1: The schedule will be shared after candidate is hired. Estimated 6.5 hours between 8 AM - 6:30 PM

 

Must-haves

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs
  • Willingness to work rain or shine
  • Excited to engage with the public! (prior customer service experience is preferred.)
  • Class 5 driver's license and two years of driving history in BC. 

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and take down Celebration Stations

  • Drive equipment to each site location (vehicle provided)
  • Unload and set up the event tent, tables, and signage at each location
  • Take down each station and load the equipment into the van.
  • Chat with members of the public about cycling and work with volunteers (training will be provided). You’ll be the face of HUB Cycling!
