New Record - Over 6,300 Riders for Fall Bike to Work Week

November 3, 2015

Thousands of people helped break records last week - and splash about - at Celebration Stations and events across Metro Vancouver during Fall Bike to Work Week.

With dozens of sponsors at 48 stations in 10 cities, registration surged this year - over 6,300 riders logged 260,000 km, enough to circle the earth 6.5 times! Visit the Bike to Work Week page for the full list of champions.

Everything about Fall 2015 BTWW was bigger and better than 2014, including # of teams, total trips, total kilometres logged, calories burned, and GHGs diverted. In addition to five bike-a-day draw prizes, we also awarded our grand prize, a biking trip for two to Vietnam, courtesy of Exodus Travels. Congratulations to Garret, one of 46 riders with Vancouver Public Library's champion team in the 501-1,000 employee category - have a great trip!

Between the glorious weather to start, Vancouver Police's launch of 529 Garage bike theft registry, Friday's Hallowe'en Party, and the HUB Bike Shorts Film Festival on Sunday, it was heck of a week. See our BTWW photo gallery here.
